About Ran

I’m Ran Kunst, a contemporary artist based in Amsterdam.

I create character-driven artworks that are bold, colorful, and built around worlds that continue to evolve. What starts as a simple idea or sketch often grows into something larger, a system of characters with their own logic, personality, and place.

One of the central figures in my work is the Shouter. What began as a quick doodle has grown into the ShouterVerse, a series of loud, playful, and slightly imperfect characters. Each Shouter wears a costume inspired by pop culture, reflecting the quirks and contradictions of human behavior.

My process moves between digital and physical. I sketch and explore ideas digitally, then bring them to life with acrylic on canvas, combining graphic clarity with the texture and presence of painting. Bold lines, strong color, and intentional imperfections define the work.

The collection ranges from limited edition prints to one-of-a-kind paintings, with each piece part of a larger, ongoing universe. Alongside the artworks, I continue to expand these worlds into objects, sculptures, and other forms.
